World Oldest Tree Ever was found in Sweden

The world’s oldest recorded tree is a 9,550 year old spruce in the Dalarna province of Sweden.

The spruce tree has shown to be a tenacious survivor that has endured by growing between erect trees and smaller bushes in pace with the dramatic climate changes over time.

For many years the spruce tree has been regarded as a relative newcomer in the Swedish mountain region.

”Our results have shown the complete opposite, that the spruce is one of the oldest known trees in the mountain range,” says Leif Kullman, Professor of Physical Geography at Umeå University.

A fascinating discovery was made under the crown of a spruce in Fulu Mountain in Dalarna. Scientists found four “generations” of spruce remains in the form of cones and wood produced from the highest grounds.

The discovery showed trees of 375, 5,660, 9,000 and 9,550 years old and everything displayed clear signs that they have the same genetic makeup as the trees above them. Since spruce trees can multiply with root penetrating braches, they can produce exact copies, or clones.

The tree now growing above the finding place and the wood pieces dating 9,550 years have the same genetic material. The actual has been tested by carbon-14 dating at a laboratory in Miami, Florida, USA.

Previously, pine trees in North America have been cited as the oldest at 4,000 to 5,000 years old.

In the Swedish mountains, from Lapland in the North to Dalarna in the South, scientists have found a cluster of around 20 spruces that are over 8,000 years old.

Although summers have been colder over the past 10,000 years, these trees have survived harsh weather conditions due to their ability to push out another trunk as the other one died.

”The average increase in temperature during the summers over the past hundred years has risen one degree in the mountain areas,” explains Leif Kullman.

Therefore, we can now see that these spruces have begun to straighten themselves out. There is also evidence that spruces are the species that can best give us insight about climate change.

The ability of spruces to survive harsh conditions also presents other questions for researchers.

Have the spruces actually migrated here during the Ice Age as seeds from the east 1,000 kilometres over the inland ice that that then covered Scandinavia? Do they really originate from the east, as taught in schools? “My research indicates that spruces have spent winters in places west or southwest of Norway where the climate was not as harsh in order to later quickly spread northerly along the ice-free coastal strip,” says Leif Kullman.

“In some way they have also successfully found their way to the Swedish mountains.”

Lip Plates on Mursi Tribes | Mursi Tribes Pictures | Southern Ethiopia Tribes Mursi Tribes

Well several months ago we talk about a long neck woman in birma, now we got another weird and the most bizarre tribe in this world, that was Mursi Tribes from Southern Ethiopia, they used a Lip Plates, here's a little information about Mursi tribe that i found in the african tribes dot org.

The Mursi tribe (sometimes called the Murzu tribe) are an African tribe from the isolated Debub Omo Zone in Southern Ethiopia near the border with Sudan. There are an estimated 10,000 people in the Mursi tribe and the Ethiopian government groups them together with the Suri and Me’en tribes and calls the collective group the Surma. However, the Mursi tribe reject the term Surma and refuse to identify themselves as Surma. Unlike some other pastoralist African tribes, the Mursi are sedentary rather than nomadic. The language of the Mursi is in the Nilo-Saharan linguistic family rather than being in the Afro-Asiatic language family as is Amharic, the official Ethiopian language. Very few Mursi people speak Amharic and most are unable to read or write. Although a small percentage of the Mursi tribe are Christians, most still practice Animism, believing that plants, animals and some inanimate objects possess spirits. Mursi tribe girls and women wear lip plates in their lower lips similar to some Amazon tribes such as the Suya tribe from the Xingu River area in Brazil. However, in the Suya Amazon tribe it is the men that wear the lip plates, while with the Mursi African tribe, only the females wear the plates in their lips. The Mursi girls pierce the bottom lips which are stretched so that a clay lip plate can be inserted. In addition, this African tribe removes the bottom teeth of the girls for esthetic enhancement. Currently the Mursi tribe is being displaced from their traditional lands that are in the Omo National Park. Ethiopian government officials have been actively evicting Mursi people from the Omo National Park without any compensation and burning down homes located within the boundaries of the park. The Mursi have a reputation for being one of the more aggressive African tribes and are famous for their stick fighting ceremony (“donga”) which is fought by the men of this naked African tribe. The winner of the “donga” will be able to select the girl of his choice to have relations with, even though she may marry someone else. Similar to the Hamer tribe, the Mursi tribe commonly drink a mixture of blood and milk as do other African tribes in the region.

And this is the picture of the mursi tribe woman with the lip plates

If you want to know the terrible truth of this mursi tribes and why they use a lip plates so you have to read this article here.

This Dog Walks 200Km Through Siberian Wilderness to Return to Her Owners!

Maru, a one-year-old Bullmastiff traveling on train through the Siberian taiga, reportedly jumped off and walked over 200 km trying to return to the owner who had rejected her.

Born at a dog kennel in Novosibirsk, Maru was sold to a family in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, 800 km away, when she was only five months old. However, six months later kennel owner Alla Morozova received a call from the dog’s owners informing her that they were allergic to animals and could no longer look after their pet. The contract stipulated that in the case that the buyers no longer wanted a dog, they should inform Morozova first, so she could make arrangements to retrieve them. She had someone get Maru and accompany her on a train ride back to Novosibirsk, but 200 km into the journey, something went wrong.

“The dog had a panic attack, she was frightened,” Alla Morozova told the Siberian Times. “She had been brought by her owners, then they disappeared somewhere. The noise of the train scared her, she jumped on the compartment  door, kicked the handle to open it, and almost threw the conductor out of the way. When the door opened to the platform, she jumped out into the night, into the taiga.”

Maru jumped out of the train as it was approaching the station in Achinsk, a city between Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk, and although the person accompanying her screamed for her to return, she disappeared. After hearing the news, Alla called her former owners to tell them that Maru was all alone and scare. She asked them to help her look for the dog, but they flat-out refused.

“That angered me. The owners were not upset at all, like, well, the dog is lost and that’s all right,” the kennel owner said. That was their answer. They gave the dog away and the load fell off their shoulders.”

But Morozova wan’t about to give up on her dog. She posted message about her online and distributed leaflets asking for information. Two and a half days later, she was relieved to hear that Maru had been found, but shocked to learn that she had been located in the Krasnoyarsk industrial area, most likely as she tried to return to her former owners’ home.

“Volunteers found her in an industrial zone,” Alla said. “The dog was very tired. She was lame, her paws were broken. The pads were damaged. Her muzzle was broken. She had walked and run for two and a half days. Luckily neither bears ate her, nor wolves chewed her up.”

“I’m sure that she was looking for her house. Dogs are very attached to people,” the dog breeder added. “She did not run to Novosibirsk, she wanted to go back where she lived. It is surprising that she went the right way. Geographically, she had no reference points at all. In the city she used to walk only in the yard, she never went anywhere else. And  to make her away through the wild taiga, it is an amazing case.”

A friend of Alla’s recently drove Maru to her kennel in Novosibirsk, where she was reunited with her mother and father. She is currently undergoing treatment to recover from the ordeal of walking 200km through the Siberian wilderness.
